Privacy Policy

The short version
- GigLedger requires no account and asks for no name, email, or password.
- Your trip ledger lives on your device. We never read, upload, or sell it.
- Location is used only while you are tracking a drive, on your device. Raw GPS points are never stored or uploaded; only the trip distance you choose to log is saved.
- The free version may show ads from Google AdMob; an inexpensive Pro upgrade removes ads entirely.
Information we collect
Information stored only on your device
Trip entries (dates, earnings, miles, costs, platform tags), optional receipt photos, vehicle settings, and preferences are stored locally in the app’s database. They are not transmitted to Kymbria and there is no server-side copy of your ledger. Uninstalling the app removes this data.
Anonymous diagnostics & funnel events
The app may send a small set of anonymous events (such as app opened, paywall viewed,
trial or purchase started, and ads shown) to gigledger.kymbria.com.
These events contain only a random, rotating per-install identifier and event
metadata. They do not include your name, contact details, trip
contents, location, or any personal identifier. Events are queued on the device
when offline and transmitted in batches solely to operate the service and
understand aggregate conversion.
Push notifications
If you allow notifications, OneSignal assigns an anonymous push identifier so the app can receive occasional announcements. You can disable notifications in system settings at any time. Notifications are never used to track your location.
Advertising (free version)
Free users may see Google AdMob banner and occasional full-screen ads. AdMob may collect the advertising identifier and device data as described in Google’s advertising policies to serve and measure ads. You can reset or opt out of personalized advertising in your device’s Google Settings. Pro has no ads and no advertising SDK data collection.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment method; Google provides the app only with purchase status so Pro can be unlocked and restored.
Contact form & support
If you email us or use the contact page, we receive whatever you send (such as your email address and message) and use it solely to reply to you.
How we use information
- To provide trip logging, calculations, exports, and mileage tracking.
- To process purchases and restore entitlements.
- To operate optional notifications and the free ad-supported tier.
- To maintain aggregate, anonymous measures of app reliability and conversion.
We do not sell personal information, do not use third-party advertising on Pro, and never use data for credit, employment, or insurance decisions.
Data processors & third parties
- Google Play Billing — purchases and subscriptions.
- Google AdMob — advertising in the free version.
- OneSignal — optional push delivery.
- Google Firebase — crash diagnostics (aggregate).
Each provider’s handling of data is governed by its own privacy policy and Google Play data-safety requirements.
Data retention & deletion
Device data: retained on the device until you delete trips or uninstall. Anonymous events: retained no longer than 13 months in aggregate form. Contact messages: retained until the support request is resolved. To request deletion of any anonymous data, email [email protected].
Children
GigLedger is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Security
Local data stays in Android’s protected app storage. Server communications use HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we collect as little as possible by design.
Changes
Material changes will be reflected in a new effective date on this page and, where appropriate, announced in the app.
